May 2013 Golem Hubo's New Skills

With continued work on Golem Hubo we have established teloperated walking as well as multiple levels of autonomy. It is now possible to control the robot directly and with partial autonomy. The video below demonstrates a number of modes of control during a single run. Hubo pushes objects to the sides, walks, detects a target object and grasps it.

Also, here is an earlier video demonstrating another of Golem Hubo's skills that we have developed for the DARPA Robotics Challenge - DRILLING through a wall! The workspace is increased by utilizing the robot's legs to squat during the operation. Control is teleoperated using polhemus magnetic sensors.
